Chapter Profile
The Morgan County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society was formed in 1981 as a department of the local Historical Society, and reorganized in 1986 as an independent organization. The Chapter has been chartered by the State of Ohio as a nonprofit organization.
Our Mission
The Chapter is dedicated to the collection, preservation, and dissemination of genealogical and historical material relating to past residents of Morgan County, Ohio.
Meetings
The Chapter meets the 3rd Tuesday of February, May, August, and November, at 6:00 p.m. at the Kate Love Simpson Library, 358 E Main Street in McConnelsville, Ohio.
Newsletter
The Morgan Link is published by the Chapter quarterly. The Link reports activities and projects of the Society, and includes genealogical and historical information of interest to researchers with Morgan County, Ohio connections. Queries are published free for members. Nonmembers may submit queries for $1.00 each. Send queries to the chapter at:

Library
The Chapter's books, manuscripts, microfilm, and other genealogical and historical material is incorporated into the Kate Love Simpson Library, genealogy and local history collection.

Genealogy Research Techniques Workshop:
We are excitedly awaiting the upcoming workshop, which is being sponsored by the Morgan, Noble and Washington County Chapter's of the Ohio Genealogical Society. The workshop will be presented by Rev. Dr. David McDonald, CG in Marietta, Ohio.

Welcome New Volunteer:
We would like to welcome members Troy Goins Stevens and Judy Bedford as new Morgan Co. Chapter OGS volunteers. They have agreed to type obituary transcripts for our online obituary database.
